Motion and compatibility equations are used to base on the Reddy’s higher-order shear deformation plate theory and consider the influenceof initial geometric imperfection and the thermal stress in the plate. Besides, the Galerkin method andRunge–Kutta methodare used to give clear expressionsfornonlinear dynamic responseand natural frequenciesof the sandwich plate. The influences of geometricalparameters, type of porositydistribution,initial imperfection, elastic foundation and temperature incrementonthenonlineardynamicresponse and vibrationofthick sandwich plateare demonstratedin detail.The results are reviewed with other authors in possible cases to checkthe reliability of the approach used.
