There is a significant relationship between class attendance and a student's academic performance. Meanwhile, absenteeism remains a substantial and ongoing issue in the nation's academic sector. Given the prevalence of smartphones among users, employing them to expedite the attendance process enhances the educational experience. The study aimed to ascertain the attendance status of selected Grade 12 HUMSS students using the QR code monitoring system. A quantitative method employing a descriptive research design was utilized to analyze, interpret, and identify improvements in Grade 12 HUMSS students' class attendance before and after the use of the QR code monitoring system. The data were collected through a cross-sectional web-based survey. This QR code monitoring system assists in easing teachers' tasks and utilizing a more efficient tool to monitor students' attendance accurately. The researcher purposefully selected 30 respondents enrolled in the school year 2022-2023 in Grade 12 under the Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) Strand-CRG at Tagkawayan National High School. The survey questionnaire was distributed to assess the effectiveness of the QR code monitoring system, revealing that the QR Code monitoring system is much more effective for students. Furthermore, there is a significant difference in the attendance of students before and after the utilization of the QR code monitoring system. Therefore, the utilization of the QR code monitoring system was effective in improving their attendance in class, consequently enhancing their academic performance. 2024-04-12T10:08:35Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/conf_archers/2023/paper_innov/6 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/conf_archers/article/1004/viewcontent/ARCHERS_Garrido___Cindy_Garrido.docx.pdf Animo Repository absenteeism; automated; QR code; monitoring system; web-based survey |
