Chua, Schubert Dwayne T. Ruiz, James Christian T. Tan, Chester Russell U. Sales, Niña Ana Marie Jocelyn A. The pandemic has forced every student enrolled in schools in the Philippines to study under the Flexible Model of Learning. Though a typical senior high school student seemed content with the teaching method, they appeared troubled by the constraints arising from their residence’s environment. The learning setups and space appeared inadequate and uncomfortable for their schooling and needs. The paper aimed to propose a home learning setup which considered all the possible factors affecting it, was DIY (do-it-yourself) ready, utilized cost-effective materials, and adhered to a positive level of acceptance from the target audience. Surveys were distributed to Senior High School (SHS) students to determine the factors that had to be considered during the conceptualization of the design, the most suitable materials to be used based on price comparison, and the target market’s level of acceptance. The completed design’s materials were chosen from various online shopping platforms based on their cost-effectivity. It was met with positive reviews upon its presentation to the senior high school students involved in the study. Although, a few concerns regarding the design’s stability and comfort were brought to the table. It is highly recommended that a fully assembled physical proof of concept (POC) be constructed, and a more in-depth study is conducted to solidify the 3D prototype’s effectivity and further enhance the design’s potential. 2022-05-12T20:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/conf_shsrescon/2022/poster_cli/4 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1135&context=conf_shsrescon DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Animo Repository cost-effective design do-it-yourself [DIY] setup flexible learning residential learning space setup spatial design Social and Behavioral Sciences
