Magada, Maria Laurize Diabetes continues to be a severe problem in the Philippines as it becomes the sixth leading cause of mortality in the country, with a 52.9% increase in the number of deaths over ten years (IHME, 2019). Several diabetes applications were developed to help ease this epidemic, but none could support the Filipino diet. Thus, a more comprehensive, Filipino-centered mobile application was developed and tested. It contains blood sugar level, carbohydrate intake, medicine intake, weight, and physical activity management features. The application is fully functional, and all of the planned features were included. Moreover, the application gained an average score of 3.96 out of 5 from Filipino diabetic beta testers; this may imply that the testers found the application to be usable, functional, efficient, and effective in lifestyle and diabetes management. The developed application can potentially support diabetic Filipino patients' health management and the regulation of the diabetes issue in the Philippines. Since it can also record the patients’ information accurately, the medical professionals can have more credible data to examine during consultations. 2022-05-13T17:30:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/conf_shsrescon/2022/poster_fnh/3 DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Animo Repository diabetes mHealth application lifestyle management blood sugar level food intake Medicine and Health Sciences |
