Lee, Lanna Gene C. Ocampo, Mary Caryle L. Like other career fields, interior designers have a role in protecting and conserving the environment. Interior designers' role in maintaining a healthy environment is to ensure the use of sustainable materials and layouts in their designs. Interior designers today have the opportunity to further embrace their roles in environmental conservation by prioritizing sustainable practices. The researchers aim to address the lack of studies on sustainable interior design by establishing new eco-friendly, sustainable Scandinavian interior design norms. The paper’s main objective is to develop the standards for eco-friendly interior design; to fill in the current gaps in this specific field of study by creating a new class of comfortable, sustainable, and stylish interiors. This study will cover various ways one can incorporate sustainability into the interior design of a standard Scandinavian living room. This research used a combination of surveys and participant interviews to grasp undergraduate students’ knowledge of sustainable design. Surveys were sent to ten randomly selected Civil Engineering students from De La Salle University - Manila Campus, from second-year level students. Afterward, the researchers randomly picked three of the ten previously selected students who answered the surveys and, additionally, three interior designers to participate in structured interviews. The results showed that the design preferences of the respondents agree to implement the usage of sustainable materials, such as bamboo and ferrock, which will be reflected in the final output. The three illustrations will be used by the researchers to help visualize the proposed final output scale model using various suggested materials. 2023-06-27T20:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/conf_shsrescon/2023/arts_daa/3 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/conf_shsrescon/article/1759/viewcontent/APE_DAA_Ang_Lee_Ocampo___Lanna_Gene_Lee.pdf DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Animo Repository interior design sustainable eco-friendly college students living room
