This study was conducted because of the increasing plastic waste due to disposable face masks. The researchers examined and compared the durability and filtration abilities of eco-friendly and disposable face masks using water absorption, water repellency, optical microscopy analysis, and tensile strength test. The eco-friendly masks had a high tensile strength compared to disposable masks. It also passed the other testing methods conducted in the study. Therefore, the researchers concluded that these eco-friendly masks could be an alternative to disposable masks. 2023-06-29T15:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/conf_shsrescon/2023/poster_see/3 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/conf_shsrescon/article/1793/viewcontent/PoP_SEE_Lee_Dascil_Melad_Ponteras_Rejano_Ybañez_Glo___LEE__Irish_Yi_Fung_M.__1_.pdf DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Animo Repository alternative face masks eco-friendly face masks banana peels pineapple leaves tomato seeds |
