Summary: | Levothyroxine remains the most commonly prescribed medication for hypothyroidism; however, there may be side effects on the patient's health. While these side effects are unavoidable, technological developments can be utilized to aid patients in mitigating them. This study aims to determine Levothyroxine's effects on Filipino women's physical health and how technology, specifically a chatbot, can assist in symptom tracking. The study evaluates the usability and effectiveness of ThyroBot, a chatbot that tracks and journals the symptoms of Levothyroxine in Filipino women with hypothyroidism, provides medication intake reminders, and offers a summary of logs. ThyroBot was created via Chatfuel. To evaluate the usability and effectiveness of ThyroBot, the Chatbot Usability Questionnaire (CUQ) and chatbot testing by one medical expert and one computer studies expert were used. It was found that ThyroBot scored an average of 85.95 out of 100. Feedback and comments from the experts are noted for future improvements to the system. Additionally, the study suggests that incorporating patient feedback and expanding the sample size could provide more insights and detailed information regarding the side effects of Levothyroxine. |
