Garcia, Ralph David B. Salvador, Hannah Pearl O. The Internet of Things revolutionizes parking systems and efficiently identifies available spots to reduce search time, traffic congestion, and accidents. With the increasing number of vehicles driven by visitors and residents in the City of Baguio, parking accommodation has become insufficient. Although Internet-of-things has shown its benefits to other communities, its functionality in the City of Baguio remains unclear. To promote sustainable and effective urban transportation, the suggested solution of an IoT-based parking system addresses Baguio City's parking issues. The significance of this study lies in its ability to reduce time spent looking for parking areas while providing recommendations for implementing IoT in the city’s parking management. Ultrasonic sensors are used to detect the vehicles, and their readings are reflected in the application. For detection accuracy and timeliness, a response time of less than 10 seconds is required to be considered a pass. User expectations and assessment of the user interface design were evaluated through a semi-structured interview. Results affirm the accuracy and reliability of the web application, demonstrating satisfactory real-time communication with response time consistently meeting criteria and ensuring timely updates. A positive response was given regarding the application's advantages in addressing parking concerns, with suggestions for improvement. These findings validate the web application as a viable solution to parking challenges in Baguio City, as affirmed by respondents' views. 2024-06-11T22:30:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/conf_shsrescon/2024/paper_csr/8 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/conf_shsrescon/article/2419/viewcontent/CSR_Mondero_Cando_Garcia_Salvador___Nathaniel_Mondero.docx.pdf DLSU Senior High School Research Congress Animo Repository internet-of-things parking web application
