Domingo, Mel Clarisse E. Metro Cebu is the most urbanized area outside Metro Manila and Is fast becoming a congested city in terms of traffic conditions. Population explosion and the constant pursuit of economic wealth have further worsened this problem. Given that the main objective of this study revolves around the predicted impacts of Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system in the future urban travel in Metro Cebu, this paper focuses on the current passenger transport systems of the study area. The BRT system mainly affects various factors such as passenger travel time, travel speed, and demand-capacity ratio. The group collected necessary primary and secondary data so as to be input in the EMME software. There were several scenarios made in simulating the actual current road condition of the study area, forecasted travel demand condition, and the introduction of BRT to the forecasted system. Extensive modeling in EMME computer modeling software was used in calibrating the data. The group was able to draw conclusions from comparing the multiple results of the model. The proposed solution was found to be more efficient and effective to serve the future passenger demand of Metro Cebu. With the introduction of BRT system, less passenger travel time on the road and reduced overall passenger-kilometer for the whole urban area were observed. Furthermore, lower demand-capacity ratios were experienced by the jeepneys due to the BRT system. 2009-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9358 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Transportation--Philippines--Metro Cebu Transportation--Planning Transportation engineering--Philippines--Metro Cebu Urban transportation--Philippines--Metro Cebu Engineering
