Berenguer, Camille Villegas, Richard A descriptive study was done on the occupational hazards and related occupational diseases existing among factory workers in Rizal Cement Corporation, a cement corporation with its plant site located in Binangonan, Rizal. The total labor force examined was 388. The occupational health hazards were identified through ocular inspection of the different departments in the site. Measurement of the physical parameters (light intensity, noise, temperature and humidity) reveal that the physical conditions in the plant site prove to be non-hazardous to the health of the workers. Investigation and statistical analysis (One-Way Analysis of Variance) of the relationship between the incidence of diseases and the different plant departments show that the occurrence of the diseases is independent of the department the affected worker/s is/are exposed to. Examination of the medical records of the workers from January 1990 to December 1992 reveal that the gastro-intestinal tract is the body system which is greatly afflicted by complications. Despite all the safety measures, occupational diseases still are prevalent. It is recommended that there should be strict compliance to the safety provisions and regulations by the workers the company in turn, must properly monitor the activities and working habits of their workers. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9403 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Occupational health and safety Occupational diseases Cement industries |
