Description
Summary:This study investigates on employee commitment to environmental stewardship as a component of Corporate Social Responsibility. In facilitating this study, the proponents conducted both quantitative and qualitative studies on 100 regular employees and 6 supervisors respectively. The Helping Attitude Scale (HAS) and Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (OCQ) survey questionnaires were used for the quantitative study wherein it was proved that there is a significant relationship between altruism and organizational commitment. Meanwhile, a Focused Group Discussion was performed for the qualitative study wherein themes were analyzed through content analysis. Employee commitment to environmental stewardship proved to be religiously implemented upon the acquisition or altruism and organizational commitment by the members of the organization. Given that both qualities are significant contributors to employee commitment to CSR, the success or failure of CSR programs is dependent on the employees level of altruism and organizational commitment.
