Description
Summary:The current study explored the experiences, psychological development and relationships of Filipino adult orphans. The researchers utilized a qualitative research approach. They interviewed three married females, two unmarried females and three unmarried males. The data was collected through the narratives of the orphans and was analyzed through thematic analysis. The results of the study showed that even though orphans experienced a lot of negative challenges and emotions, they could develop positive values such as resilience, patience, independence, generosity and contentment. Furthermore, most of the current relationships of the orphans are also positive in nature despite the tendencies of being distant and dismissive.
