Philippine elementary and high school education during the Japanese occupation

This study focuses on the educational system in elementary and high school levels in the Philippines during the Japanese Occupations. The proponents discuss its objectives and policies concerning the administration, the faculty, the curriculum and the language of instruction. The researchers likewise look into the programs undertaken during the period to implement the objectives of the Japanese sponsored education. The study includes an evaluation of the said system. The researchers use the descriptive-analytical method of research. Oral history is also utilized. The researchers interviewed eleven (11) respondents. Of the number, two (2) were teachers and the rest were students during the said period. The study is centered on the Japanese objectives. Namely, the inculcation of the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere the elimination of Western influences the uplifting of Filipino morals the propagation of Japanese language the promotion of vocational courses and the encouragement to love labor. It found out that planned strategies look good yet ineffective due to lack of inspection. Based on responses gathered, the researchers assessed that the overall Philippine education during the said period benefited the respondents by lessening the number of years delay and the discipline.
