Lo, Kerwin O. Piczon, Myla Leah R. This study presents the differences between the views of Filipino males and females, orthopedically handicapped and non-handicapped and younger (sixteen years old and below) and older adolescents (seventeen years old and above) toward courtship (courtship behavior and extent of physical involvement), marriage (criteria for mate selection and Ideal husband-wife relationship) and family life (roles of family members and ideal parent-child relationship). Data was gathered through survey and focus group discussions from four groups of respondents namely: male handicapped and female non-handicapped, female handicapped and female non-handicapped. There were 196 respondents for the survey and 6 to 8 respondents for each of the four focused group discussions. Respondents were taken from four schools and four institutions. Due to limited time and resources, purposive sampling was utilized within institutions and random sampling for the public schools in the selection of respondents who possess homogenous characteristics of being in the age range of 13-20 years old and coming from a Filipino low socio-economic status family within the Metro Manila area. A liberalism scale was created for each of the three sections and a scoring system was formulated. In analyzing data, CRISP (CRunch Integrated Software Package) software was used in facilitating all data storage and analysis. 2x2x2 ANOVA with alpha levels of .05,.01 and .001 were used to determine where the significant differences exist. The t-test for two independent samples was applied to know specifically where they differed in the items. Content analysis was used for the data gathered from the focused group discussion. Results showed that there are significant differences in the adolescents' view towards courtship according to sex and physical condition view towards marriage according to sex and age groups and view towards family life according to physical condition and age groups. No significant interaction effects were found among the three variables. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9602 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Philippines--Social life and customs Attitude (Psychology) Teenagers--Philippines Teenagers with disabilities--Philippines Families Courtship Marriage Sex Age groups
