Summary: | Most of our industries until now, still largely depend on man-power to support their industrial machines. A concrete example is the canning industries in which the finished products are manually packed into their specific containers. At present, this problem is being overcome mostly by large industries by using a specific machine to pack their finished products. However, this packaging machine can only produce a specific package size, i.e, the container size cannot be varied by the user. The PLC-Controlled Multi Selection Packaging System design will be most useful in the packaging industry in which the system will almost be automated. The system will be controlled by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) to increase efficiency in production. In a PLC, logic of the control task is implemented by programming instead of by tedious wiring. It will also offer greater flexibility, i.e, a change to the control logic merely requires simple reprogramming as opposed to time-consuming rewiring and changing components. PLC-based automation also offers less space requirement, higher speed in execution of binary statements and allows handling of the actual control tasks with undiminished speed. Provided that there is a previous system that selects and automates the box feeder, this packaging system is effective so that even small industries would look forward to this machine as an economical alternative. Implementation of this automated and multi-selection packaging system will serve as a stepping stone to modernize our presently lagging industries here in our own country. |
