Summary: | The film tackled how a war veteran lives with post war trauma as part of his life. Post-traumatic stress disorder is a mental health condition that is brought about by a terrifying event-- either by experiencing it or witnessing it.
Some common symptoms that can be experienced by a post war veteran are recurrent, intrusive reminders of the traumatic event, extreme avoidance of things that remind them of the traumatic event, negative changes in their thoughts and mood and being on guard all the time, jumpy, and emotionally reactive.
Despite having many foreign film tackle the topic of PTSD, this is not commonly portrayed in Filipino films. The researchers noticed the lack of awareness of the Filipino audience of the said disorder. Our film will focus on a smaller scope of PTSD-- the post war trauma. This paves the way for not only viewers in the Philippine setting to be aware of the disorder but also the battle fought by the veterans who fought for our country even after the war. This is to recognize their struggle to live the life they had before the war. This film aims to visually present what is going on in their heads. |
