Description
Summary:This qualitative study aimed to develop a profile of preschool teachers by means of survey questionnaires and interviews of 44 randomly selected respondents situated in Paranaque City through the collection and collation of relevant data that affects the performance and outputs of the participants as a teacher. Data was categorized into: demographic characteristics, qualifications, salary and benefits, job responsibilities, philosophy on early childhood education, perceived challenges and rewards, job satisfaction, and suggestions on improving early childhood education in the Philippines. The results present information that gives a clear perspective of who the Paranaque City preschool teacher is and showed data that were distinctive to participants from certain settings, such as: the source of teaching philosophies of teachers from the detached settings, the impact of professional development and wage to teachers from attached settings, qualifications needed to be a teacher in preschools affiliated by churches and the other challenges faced by the typical daycare center.
