It is a multiuser access database manager that provides security through access control and encryption in a single-user environment. Access control is a way of protecting data from unauthorized exposure, alteration or destruction. This is done through the use of views. Views are virtual tables created for the user so he can only access a certain part of the database that he needs for a particular task. Designation is done by granting different authorizations to different users. Encryption, on the other hand, is the transformation of stored data values into unrecognizable form so as to prevent unauthorized access. |
