Optimal synthesis conditions and IR investigations of conducting polypyrrole (PPy) and I-V characteristics of PPy/n-Si heterojunction

Description
Summary:The synthesis conditions for conducting polypyrrole (PPy) produced from aqueous solutions and doped with p-Toluenesulphonate have been optimized with respect to current density, anion molarity and synthesis temperature. It was found that the optimal growth current density is 3.0 mA/cm2, the optimal anion molarity is 0.140 M and the optimal synthesis temperature is between 2-18 centigrade. The infrared (IR) spectra for the films were also investigated. N-H and O-H stretching modes as well as the carbonyl defect site were observed within the energy range considered. Finally, the I-V characteristics of PPy/n-Si heterojunction showed a rectifying behavior.
