Summary:The paper deals with the study on the possibility of recycling low-density polyethylene and film-grade polypropylene plastic wastes through the process of polyblending and the evaluation of the physical properties of the produced blends. The LDPE wastes were sourced from a local junkshop in Sampaloc and were used as packaging material for garments sold in bazaars. The PP component, on the other hand, came as resin pellets currently sold in the market by Sunshine Plastics Corporation, a company based in Davao City involved in the business of recycling plastic wastes from garbage from local dumpsites. From the data obtained through internationally recognized testing procedures conducted by the Standards and Testing Division under the Industrial Technology Development Institute of the Department of Science and Technology and D & L Industries, the group made several recommendations on the possible uses of the produced blends.
