Design of an intermittent solar-powered absorption cooling cycle using water-zeolite system

The thesis deals with the study of intermittent solar-powered refrigeration system. Involved here besides the design and fabrication of the apparatus are the determination of the proper methodology to run the said apparatus and the use of certain principles which govern its operation. The main focus...

Santos, Bonifacio B. See, Philip G. The thesis deals with the study of intermittent solar-powered refrigeration system. Involved here besides the design and fabrication of the apparatus are the determination of the proper methodology to run the said apparatus and the use of certain principles which govern its operation. The main focus of these principles is the study of the characteristics of the refrigeration cycle. The experimental data and results are then compared with those obtained from different literatures (Tchernev, et. al) and with those obtained from the past study conducted by Ngo and Tan. Given importance here are the strong points of the design and methodology used. The evaluation of the adsorbent used in the study is also discussed. Certain factors are greatly observed regarding the zeolite since the choice of zeolite plays an important role in the success of the study. Finally, the factors which influence the performance of the solar-powered adsorption cooling apparatus are evaluated. These factors serve as limiting parameters in the performance of the experiments. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/9904 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Refrigeration and refrigerating machinery Engineering design Zeolites Heat--Radiation and absorption Solar energy x4 Absorption (Heat) x6 Solar power
