A study of foam stability in a vertical column by the electrolysis of hot water at simulated hot spring temperature

The study that was conducted was on the stability of foam in a vertical column. The foam was generated by the electrolysis of hot water with the simulated temperature of the hot springs of Los Baños, Laguna. In this experimentation, a design of the set-up was made. Due to deficiencies in the design,...

Daya, Lawrence D. Umali, Ronald L. The study that was conducted was on the stability of foam in a vertical column. The foam was generated by the electrolysis of hot water with the simulated temperature of the hot springs of Los Baños, Laguna. In this experimentation, a design of the set-up was made. Due to deficiencies in the design, only the detergent concentration and the input voltage applied onto the electrodes were considered as variable parameters. The study showed that as the voltage was increased, the foam generation became faster. The study also showed the importance of a moderate growth of the bubbles in the stability of a foam lift. Data on the foam's temperature profile also proved to be helpful in showing the effects of these parameters on the foam. Data from a previous experimentation were taken into account. A similarity between the two was evident. With further studies made, an extensive detailing of what constitute a stable foam lift can result. 1993-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10007 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Water--Electrolysis Hot springs--Philippines--Laguna Water--Purification--Foam fractionation Geothermal resources x1 Electrolysis of water xx2 Springs
