Summary:The current weather monitoring system used in the Philippines, which is Automatic Weather Stations (AWS) implemented by Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), collects data, which are the humidity and the temperature, from different areas of the Philippines. However, this system is insufficient regarding covering area. Therefore, this study aims to produce four identical spherical robots to provide mobility and to improve the covering area of the weather monitoring system. This study takes advantage of the technology of wireless sensing nodes by creating four identical mobile robots that can measure humidity and temperature. Each robot is equipped with Arduino, Bluetooth module, and humidity and temperature sensor. An android application is used to control movements of the robots and to view the humidity and temperature reading. Bluetooth is used as the communication medium between each robot and the Android application. These robots can forward, backward, right, and left, can form four types of formation, and can measure humidity and temperature then send the data to Android mobile phone.
