Description
Summary:Widowhood arises when the wife outlives the husband (Neufeldt & Guralnik, 1988). The researchers conducted a study on widowhood since systematic study of an individual's behavior, personality, and interpersonal relationship upon experiencing bereavement is just a recent study. Through the use of convenience sampling the researchers were able to obtain fourteen respondents. These respondents were then interviewed. Based on these interviews the researchers found out that widows undergo four different types of experiences which are physical, social, financial, and emotional in nature. Furthermore, two kinds of coping strategies were discovered. These strategies are self-coping behavior, and support from significant people.
