Description
Summary:The researchers searched for a variable that strengthens the relationship between humour and resilience. The researchers found that mortality salience may be what moderates the relationship between the two. The intent was to consider the role of mortality salience as a moderator on humor and resilience. The study focused on the moderating effects of mortality salience on the two variables. The study consisted of (N=118) participants who completed a self-report questionnaires that gathered information on demographics, mortality awareness, humor and resilience. The researchers found that in average high levels mortality salience gave of a significant interaction effect towards the relationships between humour and resilience, this suggests that when an individual is aware of their mortality, the individual's humor and resilience are strengthened respectively, which may help explain the behavior of individuals during mortality salient conditions.
