Description
Summary:The ISOLATED WORD RECOGNITION SYSTEM USING DSP is essentially speaker-independent, that is, the system must be trained to recognize a variety of voice patterns. The proposed implementation of this recognition system will be within an environment like that seen in file manager. Words are written at the top of the screen. These words act as the options for the user to choose from. A simple mention of one of these word options would activate the corresponding application. Such software is to be considered separately. Since existing software's rarely utilize word recognition as an input device, a certain amount of work must be done to adapt available programs to the system. This system is not without limitations. It will be trained to a variety of voices, but it will eventually encounter a voice pattern to which it has not been trained. It might therefore in practice reject valid commands if given by the unrecognized user. The number of valid words will also be limited. The group intends to use at least four command words in this particular system.
