A total of 14 species belonging to 13 genera and 3 families of plants was collected. Soil samples were collected for analysis of soil temperature, percentage moisture, percentage organic matter, pH and soil textural class. This showed that the soil was generally acidic and sandy in texture. Plant specimens taken were identified. Family Poaceae was the most represented family. Diversity indices were used in determining the species diversity, richness, and evenness existing in the area. Tree stands had a richer composition than the open sites. Saccharum sp. had the highest importance value in all the sites except for the quarried sites.
