Description
Summary:Abstract. A computer software is developed to aid the user in the allowable stress design of steel columns. The software makes use of the provisions specified by the AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION. The developed software acts as a supplement to the designer in proceeding with the structural design. This eliminates the use of design aids, approximations, extrapolations, and manual calculations. The developed software is capable of designing steel columns under concentric, uniaxial, or biaxial loading. The use of the software guarantees efficiency in the design and analysis of steel columns. Time consumption is reduced and calculation errors are eliminated. The developed software is easy to operate and comes with a USER'S MANUAL to guide the user in the operation of the computer program.
