Description
Summary:Capping concrete specimen has been done with melted sulfur compound. But since sulfur is known to be environmentally harazdous, other non-hazardous materials for capping such as mortar mix is proposed. Mortar capping was developed to test and study whether it can perform at least as good as sulfur as capping material. This study will show comparative results of sulfur, mortar, and cement paste as capping materials. The ASTM Standards were used in the sulfur and cement paste capping methods. This developed mortar capping method is very earth friendly because it does not contain any environmental hazardous substances such as sulfur.
