Diners Club International is noted as the pioneer of the credit card industry. In the Philippines, it is considered as the premier credit card and the credit card with experience. Introduced in the Philippines in 1969, Diners Club has maintained its good reputation even up to now, almost 40 years after the card was first well received by customers. Today, the card is accepted in thirteen thousand establishments in the Philippines and in three million establishments in over 170 countries worldwide. For a credit card company with global acceptance, franchises of Diners Club International put up localized websites that would be a reliable reference to pertinent information on the company's services. In this light, the proponents have developed a website for Diners Club Philippines to serve this same purpose. This website contains the history of Diners Club, a company profile, description of services offered, special promos, and a feature on Diners Club World Travel Corporation. It also includes a survey form for feedback about the website and email for comments or suggestions on the company's services. For prospective clubmembers, the proponents have also included a request for membership application form. The wealth of information found in the website was taken from brochures and company files of Diners Club Philippines. Exhaustive interviews were also conducted so that the proponents were able to determine what the company intended to include in the website. The company provided some photographs, but the proponents did most of the photographs and all the graphics. Mr. Jomar Hilario, Systems Development Head for Diners Club Philippines worked with the proponents.
