The work problems and coping styles of blind Filipino workers.

The current study aimed to explore on the work problems experienced and the respective coping styles utilized by blind Filipino workers in their everyday lives. It focused on the common work problems encountered, such as unpleasant working conditions, relationship at work, technological changes, alienation and job dissatisfaction, etc. An unstructured interview was conducted on 13 blind respondents from Videre Foundation, Ephpheta, and National Vocation Rehabilitation Center. The study was descriptive in nature and the researchers employed a purposive samplng technique in obtaining respondents. The results were content analyzed, however no problems were found in lack of motivation and communication with co-workers. It was found that all of the employed blind Filipinos have their significant others as their source of motivation not only for working but also for living their lives normally. All of them did not allow their blindness hinder them to succeed in life.
