The identification and analysis of the physical and engineering properties of soils is an essential process that precedes the construction of any establishment since they are of principal interest for the design of foundation. This process is being considered by the researchers for Las Piñas City since hardly any study has been performed on the soil properties of the said area. This study presents the analysis of index properties of soil samples such as the grain size analysis, strength parameters, and Atterberg limits. These investigations are done to understand the parameters that control the mechanical behavior of the soil. Using the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) result, the strength parameters were evaluated. The findings show that a spread footing is appropriate to a limit of three-storey buildings and can be constructed at an average depth of 4m below the ground surface. 1999-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10316 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Soils--Classification Soils--Testing Civil Engineering
