The National Drug Policy, Philippines, under the Department of Health (DOH), sponsored a project on Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) with audio tapes as the medium. The tapes are designed to change the behavior of doctors about ADR and encourage them to report ADR cases. Audio tapes are one way of reaching the target audience. Doctors will be able to utilize such medium even on the road while driving. The series consists of six programs-ADR and the Cardiologist, ADR and the Dermatologist, ADR and the Neurologist, ADR and the Psychiatrist, ADR and the Obstetrician, and ADR in the elderly patients and children. Each tape has an introduction, overview of ADR, cases of ADR in a specific field of medicine and a conclusion. The scripts were approved by Dr. Kenneth Hartigan-Go, the project leader of the Philippine Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Programme. Through the said project, reporting of ADR cases is expected to increase.
