Summary:The objective of the study is to explore the marital situation of couples with blind male spouses, and to determine the level of satisfaction in such marriages. The study is exploratory utilizing the case study method, which includes interview and psychological testing, it being the Marital Satisfaction Scale for Filipino Couples (MSIFC). Nine couples participated in the study wherein both husband and wife were interviewed and tested. The study focused on the aspects of communication, intimacy and division of labor in the relationship. Areas measured in the MSIFC are affective communication, problem-solving communication, time together, financial management, sexual dissatisfaction and role orientation. Common themes found for each aspect were integrated and interpreted.
