Go, Imee Pua, Ann Marisse Ong The strongest emanating feature of this study is the presentation of a comprehensive analysis and discussion on the Filipino conceptualization of adult life transitions. This exploratory-descriptive study used FGD as a data gathering technique. The subjects composed of 30 males and 30 females that reside in rural areas with age ranging from 40 to 65. An FGD guide was constructed and facilitated to the participants. After the needed data was gathered, it was then analyzed. It resulted to the construction of a four-staged life developmental model of transition, which gave the research a more definitive view on the Filipino adult life experience. It includes: (a) cultural markers such as maturity. Marriage, grandparenthood, and pagkaulianin that indicates transition, (b) a distinct progression of Filipino adult development from being social to self-focused, (c) cultural markers does not coincide with age, and (d) a gender difference that revealed patterns of role switch. Moreover, females were found to mature faster than men. 2001-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10369 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Adult Development Life cycle, Human Psychology |
