Removal of silver from simulated wastewater by ion flotation.

The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of our fabricated ion flotation unit in removing silver at different concentrations using a surfactant called sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS). It also aimed to determine the optimum amount of surfactant to be used in the removal of silver in the solution....

Tadifa, Raymond M. The study aimed to determine the effectiveness of our fabricated ion flotation unit in removing silver at different concentrations using a surfactant called sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS). It also aimed to determine the optimum amount of surfactant to be used in the removal of silver in the solution. In order to test this, silver nitrate (AgNO3) solution was used as a simulated wastewater sample. The surfactant was used as a collector at dosage of 0.5, 1.0 and 2.0 of surfactant per silver. The solution was subjected in the fabricated column unit with initial concentration of 0.0005 to 0.002 M. The optimum removal of silver was about 50% from collector dosage approximately equal to 1.0. 1999-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10372 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Sewage--Purification--Flotation Chemical Engineering
