Summary: | The TMS320C50 digital signal processor (DSP) is a high-performance, 16-bit, fixed-point processor manufactured by Texas Instrument. The Digital Signal Processing Laboratory of the Science and Technology Research Center (STRC) of De La Salle University have several of this processor for professors and students to experiment and do research on. Only a few ventures on studying the said digital processor thus it is a concern to supplement the learning of the professors and students as well for them to be able to design and implement basic DSP projects using TMS320C50.
With the continual rise on the use of the Internet, the web has become a standard source of information. Online tutorials have replaced books due to its advanced and state-of-the-art graphics and animations. This new method of acquiring knowledge has proven to be more effective. In line with this evolution, the proponents of this project suggest supplementing the study of the TMS320C50 by developing a computer-aided instruction (CAI), which utilizes the said technology.
This CAI can be accessed anywhere and can be used by many users at the same time over the network depending of the capability of the server. This program contains lectures on the said DSP kit with the use of graphics, animations and sounds. The CAI is made interactive as possible yet manageable so as the users will be following the prescribed course flow. They can even kepp track of the users' progress through its randomly generated quizzes and through a constantly updated user stat. |
