Summary:The purpose of this study was to find out how the phenomenon of breakup unfolds in women in the period of emerging adulthood, after a breakup from a romantic relationship. A phenomenological approach was used to find out the experience of an individual after the breakup and the meanings that they give to these experiences. The researchers interviewed nine women aged 18-25 who recently experienced a breakup from a romantic relationship. The following essences emerged: Degree of Acceptance of the breakup, Adaptation to Autonomy, and Realization of Personal Needs.
