The recent recession has affected the lives of many individuals, particularly our OFWs and their relatives. While the world is reeling from the effects of the worst recession to occur since the crash of 1929, it is possible that OFWs and their dependents have had to make adjustments and sacrifices to get by during these hard times. The study is done to determine if there are any changes in the attitudes towards spending and in the behavior of the dependents and to see how they have coped and dealt with the effects of the recent recession. The qualitative study conducted interviews with dependents with their relatives working abroad. Through the interview the researchers analyzed the data in order to know their attitudes towards their attitudes on spending patterns. Themes derived were financial, rationale, lifestyle and unaffected subjects.
