The Experience of Filipino-Chinese relationship

The study focuses on the experiences of adolescents involved in a Filipino-Chineses Relationship highlighting the conflicts and struggles encountered. The study uses thematic analysis to identify common themes found within this type of relationship. Themes that were identified describes the obstacles experienced towards the relationship such as Parental Reactions and Cultural Biases. Coping Mechanisms that displayed Hope and Optimism as well as Engaging in Cathartic Activities helps individuals deal with the problems faced. The findings in the study contradict majority of the literature towards the negative assumptions and difficulty of interracial relationships. Findings would support literature that paints these types of relationship to have a positive outcome. Further studies may be conducted that would talk into account the perspective of other family members concerned with the relationship.
