Ocampo, Carina Angela D. The study focuses on the insecurities of unwed mothers which was patterned after Higgins' Theory of Self-Discrepancy. A non-probability sampling method was used in gathering data. Each of the eight (8) unwed mothers who participated in the study underwent an in depth interview while survey questionnaires were distributed to one hundred eighty eight (188) working people. Results showed that these unwed mothers experienced insecurities during their stage of pregnancy. However, they have already eliminated these negative emotions during the time the study was conducted. On the other hand, results from the survey indicated a grand mean of 2.81 which means that the society's perception regarding the unwed mothers remain neutral and that they judge the situation on a case to case basis. In addition to this, results presented that the society has already come into terms that unwed mothers are very much a part of the Philippine society. The researchers recommended that the study should have a larger sample both for the unwed mothers and survey respondents so as to be more representative of the society. 1999-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10550 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Unmarried mothers Self psychology Self Concept Psychology
