Adachi, Ryota Yoshihiko T., Jr. Hizon, Sergi Aaron D. The study investigated on the effects of Atalantia retusa leaves nonpolar extract on liver, kidney and seminiferous tubule histology and on sperm count, morphology and other sperm activities in mice. The study made use of the ethyl acetate extract of A. retusa leaves orally administered to male mice for 18 days. The mice were sacrificed at day 19 and sperm count, morphology and sperm activities were noted. There were significant changes on the left epididymal sperm count (P < 0.05), percent viability (P < 0.05), motility, flagellar beat and velocity (P < 0.05) for both left and right cauda epididymis. Toxic effects were observed in the liver, kidney and seminiferous tubule in all doses tested. The results suggest that the nonpolar extract has reproductive and systemic toxicity potentials. 2009-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10552 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Rutaceae Plants--Identification Biology
