A study of the concept on the use of brine solution in an improvised shielded metal-arc welding set-up
The study is about the concept of using brine solution as an integral part of an improvised shielded metal-arc welding set-up. It is of similar electrical circuit and set-up to the commercially available metallic-arc welding machines, where the main difference is the secondary power source wherein t...

It is of similar electrical circuit and set-up to the commercially available metallic-arc welding machines, where the main difference is the secondary power source wherein the study utilizes the concept of electrolysis using brine solution. Different parameters such as the length and diameter of magnetic cables, volumes of water, weights of salt are used to arrive at sixty samples of varying set-ups. The voltage, current, and temperature readings are taken and recorded at different time intervals throughout the ten-minute cycle operations. after analyzing the results, one recommended set-up is used to weld the test specimen. Three specimens are welded using the improvised shielded metal-arc welding set-up and another three specimens are welded using a Miller welding machine. All the six specimens are subjected to Tensile testing at the UP Testing Laboratory. Ultimate Load, Elongation, and Failure Region are taken and recorded, and results are analyzed comparing the recommended shielded metal-arc welding set-up and the commercially available welding machine (Miller). 1999-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10557 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Shielded metal arc welding Electrodes--Specifications Electric welding Civil Engineering |
