Summary: | This is a qualitative research done on the families of women who hold high positions in their respective workplace. What the family feels and thinks about the woman, and the effects of the woman's position on the family were the research problems of this study. An in-depth semi-structure interview as the methodology used in the research. Participants included were the husbands and children of women holding high-ranking positions in their workplace. The workplaces covered in the study were corporate or business, education, and religious sectors. Results showed that families of the powerful women in this study had positive feedback on the woman's position where they are supportive and proud of her achievements. This was applicable to all sectors however, the effects of the woman's position varied across different sectors. Based on the results, it was concluded that the family redefines itself in order to give way to the changes brought about by the woman's high position at work. |
