Summary: | This paper studies and explores the lives of a sample of stay-at-home fathers, specifically their reasons, thoughts, feelings, as well as their roles and responsibilities. The researchers delved into the problem by interviewing a sample of Filipino stay-at-home fathers using thematic analysis to gather information. Stay-at-home fathers are struggling to fit into their roles as they are stuck in a situation where they need to act as the caretaker and housekeeper. Likewise, most, if not all of them are experiencing more negative thoughts and feelings than the positive thoughts and feelings. Ultimately, further studies should be done on Filipino stay-at-home fathers as this study only sees a small facade of the Filipino Stay-at-home Father. From the characteristics and attitudes of the stay-at-home fathers to the perception of others on stay-at-home fathers, there are a lot more things that researchers do not know about this subject. |
