Edelmaier, Patricia Marie B. Lansang, Patricia Audrey D. Regente, Louie Belle M. This study aims to determine the relationship between celebrity worship and psychological well-being. The Celebrity Attitude Scale an Flourishing Scale were used to measure celebrity worship and psychological well-being, respectively. However, only the Entertainment-Social and Intense-Personal category of the Celebrity Worship Scale was used in the study. Out of the 515 respondents who participated in this study, 230 were male and 285 were female. The study found that Entertainment-Social and Intense-Personal have a significant relationship with psychological well-being. Among the present samples, and between measures of celebrity worship and psychological well-being, adolescents scoring high on Entertainment-Social celebrity worship displayed greater psychological well-being while those who scored high on Intense-Personal celebrity worship displayed poorer psychological well-being. Furthermore, the mediating role of social media usage was applied to see if it affected the relationship between celebrity worship and psychological well-being. Results of the study have shown that social media usage have partial role in Entertainment-Social celebrity worshippers while no role at all for Intense-Personal celebrity worshippers in the relationship. 2014-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/10770 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Social media and society Celebrities -- Psychology.
