This study analyzed which between the two types of partial vertical integration namely, backward integration and forward integration, yields a higher result in terms of improving the overall profitability of publicly listed companies in the Food, Beverage and Tobacco industry in the Philippines. The researchers identified factors that are affected by the choice of partial vertical integration, and how those factors affect the overall profitability of publicly listed companies in the said industry. The researchers identified these factors as intervening variables. The result of the study provided a conclusion as to which between backward integration and forward integration would have a greater impact on the overall profitability of publicly listed companies in the Food, Beverage and Tobacco industry in the Philippines.
