Summary:This study explored the Filipino parents experience with their child with Down syndrome. The respondents of the study consisted of 15 Filipino parents of children with Down syndrome. Employing the qualitative research design, the data was collected using in-depth interview and was analyzed using the content analysis method. For a deeper understanding of the parents experiences with their child with Down syndrome, the researchers included questions about parent-child relationship in different settings such as home, school, malls, church, and social gatherings in their interview guide. The results of the interview showed five categories of parents experience with their child. The categories were adjustments in the lives of parents of children with Down syndrome, making sense of the situation of the child with Down syndrome, parents treatment of the Down Syndrome child, emotions of parents with a child with Down syndrome, and parents way of coping.
