Description
Summary:This study focuses on the development of seismic fragility curves for wind turbine generators in the Philippines. The approach makes use of ground motion records and the dimensions of the existing wind turbine generators installed in Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte. Finite element models were constructed using both SAP2000 and ANSYS to perform nonlinear static analysis and nonlinear dynamic analysis, respectively. Damage indicates were obtained from the two analyses, which were correlated to the ground motion indices on lognormal paper to construct the fragility curves. These fragility curves can then be used to illustrate the behavior of wind turbine generators when subjected to lateral ground movement.
