Description
Summary:This study is about the investigation of the concept and structure of FUBU relationship. Data was gathered through in-depth interviews of six male & female respondents acquired through chain referral, aged 18-21 college students who have been/currently in a FUBU relationship. Data was analyzed through qualitative content analysis. Results showed that FUBU relationships start from one night stands which becomes a continuous sexual relationship. People in FUBU relationships are usually those that prefer not to have any commitment and emotional attachments. The importance of sexual urges. Lust/pleasure, curiosity, emotions were highlighted along with the three common problems in a FUBU relationship: shame, health concerns/unwanted pregnancy and affection. Alcohol is not necessarily along with social pressure. FUBU experience is disclosed only to close-friends & fellow FUBU's. Lastly, the importance of communication was emphasized, because the absence of communication ends the FUBU relationship.
